Yesterday my friend :icongenolover: showed some artists on DA that inspired her, and I instantly became inspired too. I made a couple of sketches in my sketchbook and decided to color this one.

I'm still trying out different ways of digital painting, finding out which way suits me best. I don't wan't my paintings to look too flat and digital, but I also don't want them to look too rough and textured. Mheh, hard work..

EDIT: I changed the blue light in her face. It didn't work. I also flipped the canvas to check if the proportions were right and then I actually liked the image better when it was flipped.

Ja ik ook.., ben nog steeds bezig met een commission op DA...gaat een beetje te langzaam naar mijn idee, het is alleen ook zo veel kleur werk!!!

ik vind het zo erg hé, zit die persoon op mij te wachten...heb altijd het idee dat ze boos op me zijn als ik er zo lang over doe...het zal wel niet, maar dat gevoel geeft het me...:icondragonpetplz:

Haha, ja vervelend als je gevoel iets zegt wat je verstand onzin vindt ;) maar ik zal het ook nog even voor je bevestigen: komt goed, ze zullen het heus niet erg vinden. Je moet er ook gewoon je tijd in steken zodat je je klant iets moois kunt leveren, toch?

Wow, I really like her! =)
Her hair is just perfect, but there's a little something with the green light on her face, specially the part next to her eye, which make me feel strange.
But anyway, good job! :)

I like to play around with unexpected lightning. Combining different hues and see how it works. Sometimes it works out good, sometimes it doesn't.

It's not correct, those lights should be extra glowing red instead. If you want to throw realism out the window with the color of your lighting, you should make it obvious and go all out. Google the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword concept art for an example of that.
